Industrial chic

A global intervention aesthetic and functional
Industrial chic

A two-family house from the 60s / 70s was modernized, through an intervention not only of furnishing but also of wall restoration. The breaking down of the division between the kitchen and the living room created a much wider and free environment, in which the different moments of the day blend smoothly.

The intervention involved the demolition of the boarding, the replacement of doors and windows, the insertion of ceiling spotlights, the creation of a floor heating and cooling system, the application of wood-effect stoneware over the entire surface of the reborn kitchen-living area.

In short, a global intervention that redesigned the housing unit from scratch, giving it a new and more contemporary look.

The new cutting of the apartment made it possible to opt for an industrial-style model, which almost implies the view over the living area. The chosen line is the Positano kitchen in pepper colour, which is furnishing the entire wall by a block having the same colour top and decorative tiles, and large steel coated drawers.

Space has been exploited in height also, by inserting two orders of wall units, whose glass doors and interior lighting make it possible to visually lessen the bulk of a piece of furniture that still looks very large and roomy.

The abundant supply of household appliances includes the refrigerator (built-in on the right), the multifunction column oven and the microwave oven resting on the wall block, the dishwasher, the induction hob and the hood suspended in the central island.

The cooking area is in the central island, for which a barley-coloured finish and the same top of the sink area were chosen. The useful underlying equipment of drawers and storage compartments allows you to hold everything you need under control.

Resting on the shoulder that separates the kitchen area from the living area, a pepper-coloured industrial cupboard with bottle rack acts as a pendant to the kitchen wall block and further expands the storage capacity of this solution. On the central island rests a trestle table with a barley-coloured top and a pepper structure combined with four anthracite-coloured polypropylene chairs that reflect the colours of the fabric sofa.

The decorative intervention continues in the living area and includes a suspended TV-door unit from the Positano line, with the same chromatic finish. For this area, the barley colour was chosen with titanium material details.

Opposite, a fabric sofa with chaise longue visually encloses the area and creates a virtual corridor on the concealed door of the wall - covered with fabric upholstery - to which it rests.
